The “Youth Leadership Centre” is a non-profit community centre for all ages focusing primarily on youth, teenagers and young adults. The YLC also serves adults, families.

The aim of the centre is to improve the quality of life for young people in the community, to promote harmony and non-violence and to establish a place for youth to call their own.

We also seek to create opportunities for positive thinking and change and promote opportunities for exploring the leadership abilities and qualities of young people today.

The YLC has been structured to provide all necessary aspects (social, cultural, moral, educational and recreational) for the full development of young people today.

In the Catholic and Salesian tradition of Don Bosco, the mission of the YLC is to form honest citizens and good Christians.

All our programs and activities are supported by volunteers, stagiers, contracted staff and one full time staff.

It should be noted that the Salesian society (Catholic religious order of Don Bosco) of Canada has given space and facilities for the YLC to use and have been the main financial contributors. However, they feel it’s necessary that the City and other organizations become active financial partners. The YLC must stand on its own.

The youth of the community need to be given the opportunity to discover their potential and at the same time have a place that caters to their needs and wants. This is why we exist!

We are all aware that the future oft oday’s society lies in the preparation of youth today. The YLC is aninvestment for the present and future  to help develop the necessary skills for youth to become productive and honest citizens in our community.

We are always looking for items that can benefit our programs. Please call Theo or Joni with your donations.

We are looking for financial sponsorship for our following BIG projects this year.

• YLC Homecoming Event (Over 300 people expected)
• 11th annual Fashion Festival (Over 600 people expected)

Some of the incentives we are offering this year are:

• a thank you plaque, charity reciept
• sponsorship of a table at our Homecoming event
• your company logo on our camp t-shirts
• a link on our website to yours
• publicity in our magazine due in March 2008 (over 1000 copies will be printed and distributed in R.D.P).

We are asking for contribution of 50$ to 500$. Different incentives for different contributions.
